Natural Parks

In the Pustertal valley and its tributary valleys four natural parks with an unique flora and founa are expecting you.

In the Pustertal valley and ist tributary valleys you find the Natural Park Fanes-Senes-Braies, the Natural Park Vedrette die Ries-Aurina, the Natural Park Tre cime and the National Park Alti Tauri. This protected areas are very important for saving the environmet and they offer a lot of space for unforgettable experiences in the middle of the untouched nature.

The natural parks act as environmental education and as sensitisation of the visitors. The information center of each natural parks approaches a certain topic. The visitors learn many interesting things about the topic through exhibitions, the replica of natural regions and through audio-visual tools. This information centers are very interesting for children too: the badger Dasky explains the most important things through games and fun.

The Natural Park Vedrette di Ries-Aurina has the most glaciers of all the protected areas in South Tyrol. It is famous for its abundance of water too.

The Natural Park Tre Cime borders Toblach. The lagerst part of its 11,635 ha consists of rocks. Here live rare birds like the woodpecker and the eagle.

The Natural Park Fanes-Senes-Braies is one of the largest protected areas in South Tyrol. It is special for its phenomeon of the karst character.

The National Park Alti Tauri ist the largest potected area in Central Europe. It has a huge unique flora and fauna.
